Title: Michael Light, founder of Klick! Dynamic Social Media Enhancement and Author of the popular blog Endoflex, released his new book, Socialmedia Influence – Currency of the Future.
Press Release: Maui, Hawaii – November 1, 2011 The new book release from Michael Light, Socialmedia Influence – Currency of the Future, surgically deconstructs the history of influence to decode the mystery behind social media’s power to transform events like, Occupy Wall Street, into uniting people around the World, to take action.
The book exposes the obvious link that influence has over society, through communication, and how it is evolving into the model of social media influence and challenging the existing paradigm of influence that exists today.
Summary: With little to no help from the mainstream media, #occupywallstreet (as it’s known on Twitter) has grown into a Global movement that has occupied more than a thousand cities Worldwide, and has made Socialmedia Influence – Currency of the Future a must read. It may even be the most important information of the 21st Century. It definitely answers the question, “Why the revolution will NOT be televised”.
Michael Light, born and raised in Ventura CA, was first introduced to the computer in 1976. A self taught computer prodigy, he wrote his first computer program at the age of 14. He later pursued a career in web and graphic design, and in 2000, while living in Portland, he started his career in social media and search engine optimization to promote local area bands.
In 2006 he developed a strong interest in economics and started the blog Endoflex, which is known in blog-spheres for having a sharp analysis of the Fed’s handling of the Subprime Mortgage Industry, before it collapsed in 2008. Light’s interests shifted back to social media when he witnessed what he refers to as “the first shot of the revolution”, when MySpace (a News Corp Company) shut down their chat feature on the eve of an LA School District walkout, that had been organized using the same chat feature. This, he says, was his early inspiration for the book.
Light’s command of the historical data and his succinctly humorous writing style merge well to deliver an adventurous and engaging journey through the history of the World’s shifts in influence modalities. It takes us behind the scenes of the powerful social media community, which we see changing the world we live in. Reading it polishes the focus of our entire relationship to social media and brings us closer to how influence plays the lead roll in shaping the World’s diverse societies.
The adventure starts out in the early days of computing with, “Birth of Cool… NOT!” and takes us for a ride through the nerds world of computing with Bulletin Boards, the very beginnings of social media in the pre-Internet days. It looks at all the shifts that came with the internet, like Yahoo and Google, viral videos on YouTube, and the Facebook phenomena.
Facebook, as some of you may already know, has become the social media tool which has propelled the occupy wall street movement into a Global movement for social change. Almost every city in the World has its very own Facebook page with names like Occupy Hamburg and Philly There are pages for countries and even an occupyFacebook page. So, what’s the drive behind it?
Right now is a unique time in the World. The paradigm of influence is shifting, and it is being changed by social media. It’s lucky there are authors like Michael Light that can see through time to bring us a birds eye view of it. Some of us, who lived through the beginnings of computing will be pleasantly surprised when you see it through Michael’s perspective. It’s not just another history book on computers!
He crafts this story in a way that keeps it simple enough to understand, without sacrificing the things that make the story amazing. Michael is a uniquely gifted writer with an incredibly authentic insight into social medias influences, that are guaranteed to shift the entire perception of everyone who reads it.
